The reunion committee decided to move the reunion weekend to September to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and lessen the chance of flooding. We hope the new dates will also help our attendees by not interfering with summer vacations.
This survey is to find out what kind of reunion our attendees would prefer in 2017. Please take a moment to choose which event you would like to see for the upcoming 35th year reunion.
1. Traditional – Includes the Friday night “meet & greet” with catered food and drinks. Our plans are to have a bonfire and live entertainment for Friday night, spend Saturday visiting the camp sites, and then a Sunday picnic at one of the Charleston area parks. The 35th year reunion will be larger with more activities, so we anticipate some type of fee.
2. New – Former Union Carbide Camp Brookside is now open to the public. Located in Hinton, WV, they have 7 cabins, with bunk beds, and can sleep up to 38 people. The price is $1680.00 for Fri. and Sat. night. The cost per person will be contingent upon how many want to stay the night. (i.e., 20 people stay in the cabins, the cost would be $80.00 per person). The Camp Reunion Funds can pay for a Saturday evening catered dinner. All other meals must be taken care of by the individual attendee. Cabins and mess hall are to be cleaned before leaving.
